To whom does the HARUBUNTU Prize goes?

The Harubuntu Prize is for Africans who carry the hope and who create the wealth on the continent. These are women and men, who positively change the communities where they live.


Below are the conditions to participate in the Prize:

  1. Being African
  2. Living in Africa
  3. Carrying a project which is already running (at least a project which exists from before January 2012)

How to submit a candidacy?

To register, simply complete your details online, complete the attached form (version docx, rtf and odt) and return it to the following address: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. before July 7th, 2013.

Note: former projects which reached the level of pre-selection can no longer be receivable.

    There will be no Harubuntu international prize in 2014. After six years of hardship, passionate and intense activities the Harubuntu team has taken a break for evaluating the work it has been doing.


    However, an initiative for a specific edition of Harubuntu will take place in the only country of Ivory Coast.

  • Harubuntu awards 2013

    The award-giving ceremony will take place in Brussels on December 6th at the end of a two days workshop on ownership: "Ownership in progress: two days to share our tools and experiences".
